How often should I get my dog groomed? This will depend on the breed of dog and also how much work you are prepared to do to keep them happy and tangle free between grooms. Some people come in weekly or monthly for a wash and tidy up - some come in yearly to get everything shaved off! I would recommend that most small breeds such as Westie's and Shih tzu's should be groomed every 8-12 weeks and larger dogs such as Collies every 12-16 weeks but again it depends on how much brushing gets done at home.
How much will it cost? Again this really depends on how much work is involved but if you give me a call I will happily give you a price over the phone.
Do you do home visits? Unfortunately not, due to insurance restrictions.
How often should I wash my dog? I say as often as necessary (I wash mine once a week) but with caution as some dogs prone to skin conditions should be treated differently.
What happens on the day? I ask that you don't feed your dog on the day of your grooming appointment and also take them for a walk in the morning - this will help avoid accidents during their stay. There is a green opposite my house but please make sure that you clean up after your dog as children play in the area (I have spare bags!). You then leave your dog with me after discussing what you would like done and return to collect a transformed dog with a wagging tail.
Do you sedate dogs? No, but if necessary I will take dogs that have been checked and correctly dosed by a vet.
